The Fat Gets Trimmed as Burger Cup Advances to Round of 32
It’s easy to get from the seeding round into the top 64, but from there on out, only the tastiest burgers have what it takes to move on to the Juicy Burger Cup Round of 32.

Former champions Slowboat, as well as fellow top seeds Side Street, Burge's Bistro, and newbie sensation DOSH, live to fight another day.
A number of close calls and upsets occurred moving into this round, though: among the close contests, The Great Outdoor ousted FATBURGER, who took #12 in 2021, and Lily's American Diner outdistanced Shake Shack, which previously held the #16 spot in 2022.
These close calls were among the many instances of underdog competitors out-balloting their higher-seeded competition. Others in this category include:

And now, it's time to vote in the Round of 32. Keep in mind, though: you’ve only got until Wednesday, Nov 8 – just two days – to choose your favorites!
But before the results, a few stats on your dining habits.
From a poll conducted in our first round, we found the average Beijinger reader eats out 5.5 times a week, roughly broken up between lunches and dinners.
11 percent of you eat lunch out virtually every day of the week, while 8 percent eat every dinner out.
Beer narrowly outpolled carbonated soft drinks as your favorite beverage to pair with a burger, with Juice and Lemonade a distant 3rd and 4th. Dead last? Baijiu and hard liquor.
